Shuttle Service
The Durie Hill Elevator is currently closed. Issues were spotted in May through proactive maintenance, and the elevator is closed for technical assessments , which are expected to take at least the rest of July. The findings from this work will inform the next stage of work and any repair programme.
However, public transport for Durie Hill continues, and as a visitor, there is still plenty to see!
The elevator operator team are running a replacement shuttle service for the Throughout our regular hours it runs regularly in both directions between bus stops outside the upper landing of the Elevator (2 Blyth Street) and the Tunnel Entrance, (42 Anzac Parade).
The service takes bikes, and accepts existing concession tickets as well as cash and eftpos.
The Shuttle service is also timed so that users can transfer to or from the Connect 201 (Whanganui East - Castlecliff) bus service which has stops at the Cobb and Opposite 4 Square on Anzac Parade.
For any further information on the shuttle, you can contact us on 022 318 8537 (please note the driver can not answer if driving).
